A Bölcsészettudományi Kutatóközpont Filozófiai Intézetének Ismeretelmélet Osztálya szeretettel meghív minden érdeklődőt *Forgács Bálint (ELTE)* *A testesültség mint a kogníció átfogó modelljének korlátai* című online intézeti előadására. Az előadás összefoglalója: A testesült (embodied) kogníció elmélete bő két évtizede nem csak a nyelvfeldolgozás idegi beágyazottságának, de a magas szintű kogníciónak és agyműködésnek is nagyhatású modellje. Az elméletet alátámasztó kutatási eredmények azonban nem állnak erős lábakon, valóban perdöntő kísérletek és adatok nem kerültek nyilvánosságra. Először a testesültséggel kapcsolatos elméleti problémákat tekintem át, mint amilyen újszerűségének kérdése (pl. a képi gondolkodás szakállas vitája), a műveletek nélküli (asszociációalapú) agyműködés problematikussága, illetve az elmélet cáfolhatósága (pl. hipotézisek helyett gyakran axiómákat javasol). Ezután a rendelkezésre álló idegtudományi adatok értelmezésének korlátait mutatom be (pl. a korai szenzomotoros aktivációk automatikussága), majd saját kutatásaim alapján amellett érvelek, hogy a metaforák agyi feldolgozása nem támasztja alá az embodiment azon javaslatát, hogy a metaforikus leképezések a konkrét forrástartományok aktivációja révén tennék lehetővé az absztrakt gondolkodást. Noha a testesültség kutatása fontos eredményeket hozott a kognitív tudomány számára, a kísérleti adatok alapján nem alkalmas a kogníció átfogó új modelljét nyújtani. A konklúzió talán kevésbé meglepő, ha tekintetbe vesszük, hogy elméleti újításai, legalábbis információ feldolgozási szempontból, jobbára neo-behaviorista gyakorisági és asszociációs tanok új köntösben, amelyek inkább visszalépést jelentettek az agytevékenységet szimbolikus műveletekként modellező elképzelésekhez képest. Dear Colleagues, The Cognitive Development Center at CEU is pleased to announce the 12th annual BCCCD meeting in Budapest, Hungary (January 6-8, 2022). We welcome symposium and poster submissions from all fields of cognitive development. We welcome symposium, paper, and poster submissions reporting studies from all fields of cognitive development. Previous BCCCD meetings featured a wide range of topics, such as communication, pragmatics, social cognition, conceptual development, language acquisition, numeracy, object cognition, perceptual learning, inductive learning, memory, executive function, metacognition, the cognitive bases of culture, and comparative cognition. Despite the unpredictable development of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are committed to BCCCD22 taking place in January, either as usual, in Budapest, or online (as in January 2021), or in a hybrid format.
