COGNITIVE SCIENCE SOCIETY CONFERENCE 1999
CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
You are cordially invited to join us for the 21st Annual Meeting of the
Cognitive Science Society at Simon Fraser University's downtown campus
in Vancouver, British Columbia. Vancouver is a spectacular setting nestled
at the foot of Coastal Range mountains on Burrard Inlet and complemented

This year, the main conference program will be preceded, on August 18th,
by a day of workshops and tutorials. There will be a workshop on teaching
cognitive science, and four tutorials on cognitive architectures, including
Soar, ACT-R, Cogent, and PDP++. These tutorials are designed to
introduce architectures to potential users, and are supported by a
contribution from the Office of Naval Research.
The program for the conference will comprise over 100 refereed paper
presentations and invited symposia organized by Zenon Pylyshyn,
Fernando Ferreira, David Rosenthal, Ian Gold and Joseph Stemberger.
There will be two poster sessions/receptions on the first two evenings of the
conference.
The conference will officially close on Saturday night with an optional
dinner cruise aboard M.V. Britania. The cruise will provide an opportunity
for everyone to gather in one place, share some good food and enjoy the
spectacular scenery of Burrard Inlet.
