*MEGHÍVÓ* A *Társas-Kognitív Nyelvészeti Kutatócsoport,* valamint a *Magyar Nyelvtudományi Társaság Debreceni Csoportja, *a *DAB Nyelvészeti Munkabizottsága *és a *Hatvani István Szakkollégium* meghívja *Fehér Krisztina* *A családfamodell és következményei*** című előadására Schleicher családfamodelljére alapozva az összehasonlító nyelvtudományban a 19. század második felétől axiómának számít, hogy a közösségi értelemben vett nyelvek mindig egyetlen előzményre vezethetők vissza, ezért rokonsági viszonyaik is kizárólag erre az alapnyelvre hivatkozva jelölhetők ki. Az előadás arra kíván rámutatni, hogy ez a közkeletű vélekedés nem más, mint a családfa-metafora szükségszerű, a priori következménye, amely azonban a valós nyelvi folyamatoknak nemigen felel meg. Az evolúcióelmélet ötletére is támaszkodó schleicheri koncepció -- többek között Darwin biológiai törzsfájának mechanikus és félreértésekkel terhelt adaptációja miatt -- a nyelvek genezisének modellezésére eleve, pusztán szerkezetéből adódóan alkalmatlannak látszik. A nyelvek alakulástörténetének egyes sajátosságait ugyanis aránytalanul hangsúlyozza, miközben a többit az észrevehetetlenségig elrejti, ezáltal -- a rokonság fogalmi értelmezését szűkre szabva -- a folyamatokról egyoldalúan torz képet közvetít, az eredendő nyelvkeletkezésről pedig nem is tud számot adni. Bár az előadás a kérdéshez ezúttal még elsősorban a problémák bemutatása felől közelít, a kritikai elemzés nem önmagáért való: annak a rokonsági hálómodellnek az elméleti-módszertani hátterét alapozza meg, amit a sorozat következő darabja állít majd a családfaábra helyébe. *Helyszín:* a Debreceni Egyetem Kossuth Lajos III. sz. This field lies at the intersection of a number of scientific and engineering disciplines including Neuroscience, Developmental Psychology, Developmental Linguistics, Cognitive Science, Computational Neuroscience, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics, and Philosophy. Various terms have been associated with this new field such as Autonomous Mental Development, Epigenetic Robotics, Developmental Robotics, etc., and several scientific meetings have been established. Two-page poster abstracts: The aim of this format is to encourage dissemination of late-breaking results or work that is not sufficiently mature for a full paper. Accepted abstracts will be presented during the evening poster sessions. For the paper preparation, follow the instructions at the conference website. == Call for tutorials We invite experts in different areas to organize a 3-hour tutorial, which will be held on the first day of the conference. Participants in tutorials are asked to register for the main conference as well. Tutorials are meant to provide insights into specific topics as well as overviews that will inform the interdisciplinary audience about the state-of-the-art in child development, neuroscience, robotics, or any of the other disciplines represented at the conference. Müller and Gunter Schumann Deadline for Commentary Proposals: February 28, 2011 Abstract: Most people who are regular consumers of psychoactive drugs are not drug addicts, nor will they ever become addicts. In neurobiological theories, non-addictive drug consumption is only acknowledged as a 'necessary' prerequisite for addiction, but not as a stable and wide spread behavior in its own right. The present paper proposes a new neurobiological framework theory for non-addictive psychoactive drug consumption, introducing the concept of 'drug instrumentalization'. Psychoactive drugs are consumed for their effects on mental states. Humans are able to learn that mental states can be changed on purpose by drugs, in order to facilitate other, non-drug related behaviors. Specific 'instrumentalization goals' are discussed and neurobiological mechanisms of how major classes of psychoactive drugs change mental states and serve non-drug related behaviors are outlined. We argue that drug instrumentalization behavior may provide a functional adaptation to modern environments based on a historical selection for learning mechanisms which allow the dynamic modification of comsummatory behavior. It is assumed that in order to effectively instrumentalize psychoactive drugs, the establishment of and retrieval from a drug memory is required. Here we propose a new classification of different drug memory subtypes, and discuss how they interact during drug instrumentalization learning and retrieval. Understanding the every day utility and the learning mechanisms of non-addictive psychotropic drug use may help to prevent abuse and the transition to drug addiction in the future. *MEGHÍVÓ* A *Társas-Kognitív Nyelvészeti Kutatócsoport,* valamint a *Magyar Nyelvtudományi Társaság Debreceni Csoportja* és a *DAB Nyelvészeti Munkabizottsága* meghívja *Fehér Krisztina* *Anyanyelv és közösség -- a nyelv fogalmának klasszikus és modern értelmezése* című előadására Az előadás egy olyan nyelvfogalom felvázolására törekszik, amely - az anyanyelv és a csoport szerves kapcsolatának tételéből kiindulva - az emberek nyelvét természetes valójában, társas közegébe ágyazva mutatja be. Napjaink meghatározó nyelvtudományi iskolái (az ún. történeti nyelvészet, valamint a strukturális és formális irányok) a nyelv és a közösség összetartozását elismerik ugyan, de ennek a relativitásra utaló köteléknek az elvi jelentőségét nem tudatosítják, így a nyelvet lényegében mégis abszolút módon közelítik meg. A nyelv klasszikus értelmezéseinek problémáit az előadás rendhagyóan, a nyelvújítás és a nyelvművelés történetének példáján keresztül tárgyalja. Az ortológus-neológus szembenállás elemzésével a nyelvújításnak arra az eddig csak kevéssé emlegetett periódusára hívja fel a figyelmet, amelyikben a mesterségesen alkotott szavakat nem egy múlt- vagy jövőbeli eszményként elképzelt nyelvhez, hanem a beszélőközösség természetes mércéjéhez viszonyították. Az előadás a neológia e szakaszát a későbbi nyelvműveléssel, illetve a 19-20. század nyelvészeti irányainak nyelvképével összevetve végül egy olyan, a közösség nyelvét megjelenítő metaforikus hálóhoz jut el, amiben sem az abszolút nyelvi norma, sem pedig a nyelvtudományból jól ismert homogén nyelvszokás, langue és "ideális beszélő" fogalmak nem értelmezhetők: mivel a háló a fizikailag is tetten érhető egyes nyelvek lazább-szorosabb társas kapcsolataiból szerveződik, csakis egy dinamikus és heterogén közösségi nyelvet körvonalazhat. *Helyszín:* a Debreceni Egyetem főépülete (Debrecen, Egyetem tér 1.), fszt. 4. terem *Időpont:* 2011. február 7.
