Bánréti Zoltán Abstract Economy principles of grammar in agrammatic aphasia: I would like to show that agrammatic aphasia closely related to the impairments in the formal economy principle of grammar. When computational resources are extremely limited because of aphasia, the formal economy principles of grammar (the minimal sets of features needed, non-insertion of PF, etc) are not available in a normal way. This indicates: economy principles in normal system are based on the limited resources for a normal grammar. If the sufficient amount of computational resources is not available, the economy principles do not work. Some of the language impairments in agrammatic aphasia (among others) can be interpreted as the impairments in the economy principles of the grammar. email: banreti(a)nytud.hu
