Christof Rapp studied in Tubingen and Munich. He was guest professor at the University of
California, Berkeley and Fellow of the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin. He is author of the
books Identität, Persistenz und Substantialität. Untersuchung über das Verhältnis von
sortalen Termen und Aristotelischer Substanz, (Freiburg/Munich, 1995); Vorsokratiker
(Munich, 1997) and Aristoteles zur Einführung (Hamburg, 2001, 2nd ed. 2004). He translated
into German and commented Aristotle's Rhetoric (Munich, 2002) and, with Tim Wagner,
Aristotle's Topics (2004). He edited Aristoteles, Metaphysik. Die Substanzbücher
(Zêta, Êta, Thêta) (Berlin, 1996), and, with Christoph Horn, Wörterbuch der antiken
Philosophie (Munich, 2002).
