Vacancy: Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in the Mathematical
Modelling of Cultural Evolution
We are inviting applications for the position of Postdoctoral
Research Fellow in
Mathematical Modelling of Cultural Evolution, based here in our
offices at the Institute of Archaeology, UCL, London.
The post-holder will work with Dr James Steele (UCL) and Professor
Kevin Laland (University of St Andrews) on an AHRC-funded project to
investigate the effects of population structure on cultural diversity
in contemporary and historical human societies. Applicants should
have a PhD in a relevant discipline, and experience in computer
programming. The post is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research
Council and tenable from 1 October 2006 for a period of 2 years.
Salary scale: Grade 7 (starting point 29: #24,886 plus #2,400 London
Allowance).
