The very first message

Dear Everybody, This is the very first message being circulated via the NeuroScan User Discussion List. The aim of it is threefold: 1) You might wander why there was no traffic on the list up to now. The reason is very simple: we just started this list. At the present there are 13 subscribers, the number is growing each day. I hope we will reach the thirties within a week or two which will then hopefully ignite the first true discussions. Till then please be patient. I would very much like to know about your ideas of what you would expect to discuss via this list (if you have anything more specific than the declared aim of the list) and of course you can already ask questions, give opinions, etc. Please be active: the list is us, noone else will make it alive. 2) I wanted to test how the software works. Please send an acknowlidgement to my personal mailbox (winkler(a)cogpsyphy.hu) so that I know that this message has reached all the present subscribers. 3) Some of the new subscribers were looking for archived letters (thinking they might have missed out on something). Since there are no archived messages this generates an error reply from the listserv program both to the originator of the request and to the manager of the listserv software. From now on, anyone looking for signs of previous traffic will at least find this letter so no more (perhaps confusing) error messages will be generated. To create a community from participants scattered all around the world takes some time. Please help us to make this period shorter by informing others about this possibility and by starting to use these facilities.
