Subject: Letter of Inquiry

Dear Dr. Czigler,
I am writing in hopes of soliciting your help. Would you be able to
forward information to me regarding possible persons or programs in
Hungary that may be looking for temporary help from a graduate student
during the months of November, 1996 through May, 1997? I will be
arriving in Western Europe in mid-November and am planning to be
traveling through Europe for 8 months. I am hoping to better utilize
that time by participating in psychological research or clinical
activities. Please also forward my information to parties that you feel
may be interested in student help.
I recently graduated from college with a bachelor's degree in both
psychology and anthropology. In the fall of 1997, I will be attending
the doctoral program in clinical psychology at the University of
Wisconsin at Madison in the United States. During my year off between
undergraduate and graduate school, I was hoping to expand my experiences
by traveling and working in Europe. Most of the research I conducted
during my undergraduate studies has focused on coping strategies, ethnic
identity development, and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder as a function
of prejudice. Drs. Anthony Marsella and Stanley Sue have been mentors
for my research, especially in the ethnic minority and intercultural
research areas. As a graduate student at Wisconsin, much of my research
will be focusing on expressed emotion and its relation to culture.
Although most of my research has utilized survey, participant
observation, and non-experimental methods, I have clinical experience in
proctoring psychological tests, test analysis, and report writing.
I'd be more than happy to forward my curriculum vitae and information.

be included.
We're looking forward to receiving manuscripts from students working
in the areas of language and speech. Please help us make this
initiative a success.
