Az Időjós feladat mára egy klasszikus probabilisztikus kategóriatanulási
feladattá vált. Rendkívül sok kutatásban használták, elsősorban
olyanokban, amelyben lényeges a procedurális és deklaratív emlékezeti
rendszerek elkülönítése. Az előadás a nyelvi zavaros gyermekek implicit
tanulási teljesítményére fókuszál, és azt veti össze egészséges kontroll
gyerekek és felnőttek teljesítményével. Az eredmények összhangban vannak
Ullman és Pierpont (Ullman & Pierpont, 2005) Procedurális Deficit
Hipotézisével, amely szerint a nyelvi zavar nem egy specifikus nyelvi
jelenség, hanem egy sokkal általánosabb megismerőrendszer, a
procedurális rendszer zavarának következménye.
