Budapest was supposed to host ESCAN2020, which later became ESCAN2021. The current situation requires us to adapt further: while vaccination has started, planning a travel may still not possible and socializing may not be safe for all of us. To allow equal access and stress-free participation for everybody we are happy to announce that ESCAN2021 goes virtual. Having seen the symposia proposals and the poster/free presentation abstracts flowing in we are very excited about the excellent content we'll have. Our virtual congress platform will provide a transparent environment for a thought-stimulating and highly interactive program. The deadline for individual oral / poster submissions has been extended to 15 March 2021. All accepted presentations / posters will have an interactive discussion opportunity both by live chat and live video. For oral presentations, a video not longer than 12 minutes in mp4 format; for posters, a pdf of the poster and - optionally - a maximum 3-minute-long video in mp4 format will need to be provided by the authors. Detailed guidance and technical assistance will be provided. Should you not intend to present in the virtual congress, please withdraw your abstract in our abstract management system. If you would like to change your preference ("oral presentation" or "poster"), please revise your preference in our abstract management system as well. Satellite and symposia organizers will be contacted shortly regarding the next steps of preparation. Registration fees are reduced by 100 EUR. The registration portal will soon be updated with the new fees and the overall content of the website is going to be updated in the upcoming days.
