Tisztelt Kutató Kolléga! Talán már értesült arról, hogy a kutatási infrastruktúra (KI) fejlesztésének alakítói a teljes kutatói közösséghez fordulnak azzal a szándékkal, hogy tegyünk javaslatot arra, mely infrastruktúrákat tekintsünk országos szinten stratégiai jelentőségűeknek (SKI), melyeket fejlesszük, milyen meglévő külföldi infrastruktúrákban tartsuk meg tagságunkat, illetve melyekhez csatlakozzunk a következő 10-15 évben. A Nemzeti Kutatási Infrastruktúra Felmérés és Útiterv (NEKIFUT) projektet Molnár Károly, a kutatás-fejlesztésért felelős tárca nélküli miniszter hívta életre; a projekt Irányító Testületének (IT) Kroó Norbert akadémikus az elnöke, társelnöke Falus András akadémikus. A kezdeményezésről a www.nekifut.hu címen olvashat részletesebben. A projekt első szakaszában egy kérdőív kitöltésére kérjük fel a legszélesebb kutatóközösséget - tehát nemcsak az infrastruktúrák üzemeltetőit, hanem azok felhasználóit is, valamint mindazokat, akiknek javaslataik vannak KI-k létesítésével, meglévő, épülő, vagy akár csak tervezett KI-k igénybevételével, azokhoz való csatlakozással kapcsolatban. Kérjük, olvassa el a miniszter, valamint a NEKIFUT IT-elnöke és társelnöke által jegyzett, a kérdőív kitöltésére felkérő levelet a http://www.nkth.gov.hu/innovaciopolitika/nekifut/felkeres-nekifut-kerdoiv/ címen! A felmérés nyilvános; a kérdőívet bárki kitöltheti. Az alábbiakban néhány pont hangsúlyozásával Önt is arra szeretnénk buzdítani, hogy regisztráljon, és szánjon néhányszor öt percet a kérdőív kitöltésére (a kérdőív félkész állapotban is elmenthető, és a későbbiekben - február 28-ig - bármikor folytatható). * Fontos, hogy beszámoljon az Ön által igénybevett bel- és külföldi SKI-król! Természetesen azt is köszönettel vesszük, ha az Ön által üzemeltetett KI-t akkor is bejelenti, ha az egyelőre nem teljesíti az SKI valamennyi feltételét. Nagyon számítunk a felhasználók által adott információkra, észrevételekre! * Fontos, hogy amennyiben Ön úgy látja, hogy az Ön által üzemeltetett vagy igénybevett KI stratégiai jelentőségű, akkor az meg is kapja ezt a minősítést! A stratégiainak minősülő KI-k kiemelt helyen szerepelnek majd a készülő országos regiszterben. Az üzemeltetők érdeke is, hogy felhasználóikat a kérdőív kitöltésére ösztönözzék! * Fontos, hogy eljuttassa hozzánk fejlesztési javaslatait, jövőről szóló stratégiai elképzeléseit! A beérkezett javaslatok alapján széleskörű együttgondolkodás indul meg a hazai KI-k jövőjéről, illetve a külföldi infrastruktúrákhoz való hozzáférésről. A NEKIFUT - valóban alulról építkezve - olyan stratégiai tervező folyamatnak kíván keretet biztosítani, ami példaértékű lehet a hazai K+F+I-politika történetében! THURSDAY! 12 February 2009, 5.30 PM, Zrinyi 14, Room 412 ABSTRACT Armchair beliefs have various origins that tie them to empirical evidence (in a broad sense). Using the model of two-stage justification, immediate and reflective, acceptable for both apriorists and aposteriorists, one can identify several sources of aposteriority. Their combination yields a structured tissue of justification, in contrast to both pure a priori line, and to the opposite extreme, which, following Quine, describes “the fabric of our knowledge” as “pale gray lore” in which there are no clearly white (say, a priori), nor purely black (a posteriori) threads. The view proposed charts thus a middle way between two dominant views: the conceptualist apriorism (Peacocke, Jackson) and the “ordinarist” view (T. Williamson, M. Devitt) according to which the justification of armchair beliefs is either purely a posteriori, or of a neutral, undefined status. INNS Awards nominations sought

------------------- INNS (International Neural Networks Society) has a well established awards program, designed to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of Neural Networks. Up to three awards, one in each of the following categories, are presented annually at IJCNN to senior individuals for outstanding contributions made to the field of Neural Networks. The Hebb Award - recognizes achievement in biological learning. The Helmholtz Award - recognizes achievement in sensation/perception. The Gabor Award - recognizes achievement in engineering/application. In addition, there is the Young Investigator Award: up to two awards are presented annually to individuals with no more than five years postdoctoral experience and who are under forty years of age, for significant contributions to the field of Neural Networks. The INNS Awards Committee is now inviting nominations for the 2010 Hebb, Helmholtz, and Gabor awards as well as the Young Investigator awards. The 2009 meeting is the tenth installment of the Symposium series, which is designed to provide a forum where logicians and linguists can meet to share and discuss ideas and issues about how linguistics and logic influence each other, with the aim of promoting a fruitful cooperation. Preceding symposia took place in Debrecen (1987), Hajduszoboszlo (1989), Revfulop (1990), Budapest (1992), Noszvaj (1994), Budapest (1998), Pecs (2002), Debrecen (2004), and Besenyotelek (2006). The organizers invite papers that analyze the interpretation of all kinds of expressions in natural languages by formal means, or investigate the logical and computational properties or philosophical foundations of semantic theories. Invited speakers: Donka Farkas (University of California, Santa Cruz) Stefan Kaufmann (Northwestern University) Thomas Ede Zimmermann (Universitaet Frankfurt). The individual presentations are planned to last for 30 minutes.
