Hamburg offers two PhD positions starting in April 2012 or later.

Upon funding approval the University of Hamburg will have a position
open for a
research associate (wissenschaftliche/r Mitarbeiter/in)
salary group 13 TV-L – with a starting date of April 1, 2012 or
later for the following project: SFB 936: Multisite communication in
the brain: Changes in large-scale interactions as a mechanism of
adaptive plasticity“. The PhD student will become a member of the
Graduate training program of the SFB.
The position calls for 25 hours per week. The short-term contract
will last for 2 years - (see also § 2 of the Academic Fixed-Term
Contract Law (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz)).
The university intends to increase the number of women amongst its

Responsibilities:
A research associate is expected to prepare and run experiments,
partially with EEG record-ings. She/or he will have to analyze the
data and to publish or support publishing the results. The
successful candidate will supervise research students and will take
over some coordination tasks in the lab. It is expected that the
successful candidate work on a dissertation using partially data
acquired in project related studies.
Area(s) of Responsibility:
Research related to compensatory plasticity following blindness;
behavioural and EEG ex-periments, supervising research students,
general lab tasks.
Requirements:
University degree in Psychology or related fields, strong knowledge
in experimental psychol-ogy, experience in EEG research is of
advantage.

will end on December 12, 2012. An extension of the contract for 2,5
years is possible, depending upon funding approval - (see also § 2

2.5h/week teaching in Biological Psychology and Neuropsychology,
supervising research students, general lab tasks and administrative
task, publishing or supporting publishing of research results.

University degree in Psychology or related fields, strong knowledge
in experimental psychology, experience in conducting psychological
experiments, experience in EEG research or other neuroscience
methods and programming skills are of advantage.
