Abstract
For the detection of deception the polygraph, or "lie detector",
is a widely used instrument in forensic psychology. Albeit its
validity and reliability is repeatedly questioned by the public
opinion and scientific researches as well, results of polygraph
can be used as an evidence in criminal suit. The standard
methodology and the use of the polygraph will be presented in the
seminar, and theoretical dilemmas will be discussed.
