Dear colleague,
Don't miss the deadline for abstract submission for the
2018 Champalimaud Research Symposium! Submissions close on the 27th July. Abstracts will undergo scientific approval to ensure consistency
with the topic of the symposium. We expect most to be accepted for poster presentation and a limited number will be selected for talks.
We are also pleased to announce a limited number of travel grants for symposium participants.
To apply, find out more
here. Our competitive grants are funded by:
- Champalimaud Foundation - open to applications from any researcher;
- Wellcome Trust - open to early career scientists from
low/middle income countries.
The Symposium themed “Quantitative approaches to Behavior & Neural Systems” will
take the form of a scientific meeting, with 17 invited speakers, talks selected from abstracts, discussion sessions and poster sessions. We are very excited that Professor Haim Sompolinsky and Professor John Doyle have kindly agreed to be our keynote lecturers,
heading a diverse list of distinguished speakers. Sessions will span a range of levels from theory to data analysis and experimental work.
The Symposium will be held at our Centre on the waterfront in historic Lisbon. We expect that the unique venue, together with an exciting list of invited speakers, will foster a lively and stimulating
scientific meeting.
With best wishes,
Alfonso Renart and Michael Orger
(Chairs of the 2018 Champalimaud Research Symposium)
