Renata Cserjesi, PhD
Clinical and Developmental Neuropsychology Unit
The Neuropsychology Research Group at the University of the Balearic Islands (www.neuropsicologiaclinica.es) is looking for a PhD student to work on a project on 'Aging, cognition and physical activity' funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (www.micinn.es) awarded to Dr Pilar Andrés, and in collaboration with Professor Louise Phillips (University of Aberdeen). The general aim of the project is to investigate how age-related differences in attentional and memory abilities may be mediated by physical activity. The project will include behavioral as well as electrophysiological (ERP) measures. Starting date is October 2011, but earlier start might also be possible.
The PhD studentship will cover scholar fees and an annual stipend of circa 17000 ¤ for 4 years. It also includes travel money for research visits to other research centers abroad. We are looking for a motivated student with a Masters degree in an area relevant to the project. Candidates should be fluent in Spanish and English.
The successful candidate will form part of a dynamic research group and have access to research facilities (ERP, eye tracking, neuropsychological batteries, sound-attenuated laboratory for behavioral research).
Please send expressions of interest, CV and names of 2 referees to Pilar Andrés (pilar.andres@uib.es).
