Following the success of our new MSc in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience, we are pleased to announce that this degree course is now
expanding:
MSc in COGNITIVE & CLINICAL NEUROSCIENCE One year full-time, two years part-time Goldsmiths College, University of London
The Goldsmiths' Psychology Department - with particular strengths in cognition, brain and behaviour - achieved a 4A research rating in the 2001 Research Assessment Exercise and 22/24 in the most recent Teaching Quality Assessment. The provision of a Master’s degree in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience reflects the excellent research profile in neuroscience within our department. This is enhanced by the high calibre of new facilities available in the Cognitive Neuroscience Unit and the establishment of the Centre for Cognition, Computation and Culture where new neuroscientific techniques are available both for teaching and research purposes (e.g. EEG, neural network, eye tracking).
This MSc is open to those with a good honours degree in Psychology or a closely related discipline. The programme is full-time for one year, or part-time for two years, and is oriented to graduates who want to undertake training in neuroscience before going on to PhD study, or to pursue or enhance a career in neuroscience (e.g. research or the health professions).
The MSc covers the following areas:
- Biological aspects of brain functions
- Methods and techniques in neuroscience
- Clinical and cognitive neuropsychology
- Developmental cognitive neuropsychology
- Statistical methods
- Supervised research project
Places are limited to 20, and applications from home, EU and overseas students are welcome.
There may be a possibility for a student to link up with the local Blackheath Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre during this course.
